Mark Down Calculator Explained:

a) What is this? This calculator tells you the Mark Down % and the new sell price for a product

b) What does this tell me? How much Mark Down you have applied and your new sell price. Note that these prices are GST/VAT exclusive.

c) Why should I use it? This calculator tells you what Mark Down % you applying to a product. You can then use this to reduce the price of products in store. You can also use it to calculate the Mark Down % you are being given by a Supplier.

d) Caution: These calculations exclude GST/VAT. As a Retailer, the Mark Down % appears as a bigger number than a Discount %. As long as it is marked clearly, it is a more exciting number to use for sale items, however, be aware that by halving the price, you have a 100% Mark Down which will be very confusing for customers. Any decisions regarding Mark Downs or Discounts are a business decision made at your risk.
