Sales per metre/foot Calculator Explained:

(a) What is this? This calculator helps you assess your performance using total rented space as the benchmark measure.

(b) What does this tell me? The dollar sales made per square metre (or foot) of rented space.

(c) Why should I use it? To help you determine whether or not you are improving the sales from the space you rent or own. This may also help you determine whether or not you should reduce/add office space or alter the amount of space given to store rooms etc. Improving sales per square metre is generally regarded as a good thing.

(d) Caution: You can use monthly totals rather than annual sales. Be aware that this is just one measure of space, there are others. Note that this calculator does not measure or consider profit at all. It is often used by chain stores to determine the relative performance between stores. Any decisions made are at your own risk.
